Crocheted Lace Workshop in Alameda July 24

Crocheted Lace Workshop in Alameda July 24

Crocheted lace can be amazingly beautiful, and doesn’t have to be tricky. We’ll work up samples of different crocheted lace stitch patterns in this fun class, moving from simple mesh to geometric lace to a lacy shell stitch, reading both written instructions and stitch diagrams. You can make swatches, or use them as the beginning of three lace scarves!

This workshop will take place at Coven of Stitches, 1602 Webster Street in Alameda, CA.

Prerequisites: This class is for ages 12+. Basic crochet skills are required - you should already know chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. My Beginning Crochet playlist might be helpful if you're newer or brushing up rusty skills.

A Note on Pricing: There is a sliding scale for low-income makers.

Materials Needed: Three balls of easy-to-see yarn (small amounts are fine, or bring full skeins to start scarves), crochet hook in size(s) appropriate for your yarn(s), removable stitch markers.

Teacher Background: I have worked in the yarn industry since 2002, as a yarn shop employee and later manager, teacher, pattern designer, and event host. I have taught hundreds of people how to crochet and refined the process to make it easier for my students. As a teacher, my focus is on providing valuable information in a stress-free environment, and supporting students through the learning process.

Cancellation Policy: If the organizer cancels for any reason, students will be offered a choice of transferring to another workshop or receiving a full refund or store credit. If a student cancels with at least 48 hours notice, they can choose to transfer to another workshop, or receive an 80% refund.
