Meridian Jacobs Ranch Retreat in Vacaville April 12 OR May 3
Meet Jacob sheep, a primitive breed known for their large horns, at a beautiful ranch in Vacaville, only an hour away from San Francisco! We’ll start the day with coffee, tea, and baked goods while knitting, crocheting, and spinning. Rancher Robin Lynde of Meridian Jacobs will take us on a farm tour including petting some sheep, possible holding lambs (in March) or seeing a sheepdog demo.
We’ll have a mini class where you can start knitting a fun intermediate two-color bandana cowl, with a knitting and a crochet option. One pattern is included in the retreat registration and you can request a different one. Bring your own yarn, or plan to buy Jacob wool yarn or Timm Ranch wool yarn from down the road, either in sheepy colors or naturally dyed by Robin. There will also be time to relax and chat, shop in the farm store, and browse through a trunk show of Kira K Designs knitting and crochet kits. Lots of farm-fresh yarn will be available to purchase, as well as kits, handwoven items, spinning and weaving tools, and notecards.
