Swatch-Free Crocheted Hats Workshop in Hayward January 10

Swatch-Free Crocheted Hats Workshop in Hayward January 10

Hats are fast and fun to crochet, and there are endless possibilities. You’ll start crocheting a simple hat using Kira’s easy swatch-free formula which works with any yarn. You’ll learn to work in the round, read a pattern, increase, and measure gauge.

This workshop will take place at Aranea Craft Studio, 943 C Street in Hayward, CA.

Prerequisites: This is an intermediate level class and students should be comfortable with chain stitch and either single crochet or half-double crochet. We recommend ages 12+ for group classes.

A Note on Pricing: There is a sliding scale for low-income makers, on the honor system.

Materials Needed: 100 grams of bulky yarn and an appropriate hook for that yarn  (we recommend Malabrigo Mecha and a size K hook), removable stitch markers, yarn needle.

Teacher Background: I have worked in the yarn industry since 2002, as a yarn shop employee and later manager, teacher, pattern designer, and event host. I have taught hundreds of people how to crochet and refined the process to make it easier for my students.

Cancellation Policy: If the organizer cancels for any reason, students will be offered a choice of transferring to another workshop or receiving a full refund. If a student cancels with at least 72 hours notice, they can choose to receive an 80% refund or transfer to another class.
