Crocheted Granny Squares Workshop in Hayward March 1
Expand your crocheting skills to working in the round following a pattern or stitch diagram. We’ll make three different granny squares, two of which can be continued indefinitely to make any size including one large square as a modern and graphic baby blanket.
This workshop will take place at Aranea Craft Studio, 943 C Street in Hayward, CA.
Prerequisites: This is an intermediate level class and students should be comfortable with chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. We recommend ages 12+ for group classes.
A Note on Pricing: There is a sliding scale for low-income makers, on the honor system.
Materials Needed: 40 yards of smooth yarn (small amounts of different colors is okay), crochet hook in appropriate size for your yarn, removable stitch markers.
Teacher Background: Kira Dulaney has been teaching fiber arts classes and hosting crafty events in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 2002. As a teacher, her focus is on providing valuable information in a stress-free environment, and supporting students through the learning process. She is also the designer behind Kira K Designs, a line of original knitting and crochet patterns and kits featuring clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear. Kira has taught at Estes Park Wool Market, Interweave Yarn Fest, Lambtown Festival, the Natural Fiber Fair, Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, Red Alder Fiber Arts Retreat, Stitches events, and TNNA, as well as numerous guilds and yarn shops.
Cancellation Policy: If the organizer cancels for any reason, students will be offered a choice of transferring to another workshop or receiving a full refund. If a student cancels with at least 72 hours notice, they can choose to receive an 80% refund or transfer to another class.
